Robin of the Hood
Crime • Thriller
Rain-slick Chelsea becomes a stage for a new myth when a hooded thief breaks into collector Marcus Hanbury’s townhouse and steals a rare painting with surgical precision. Hours later, CCTV catches the same silhouette leaving thousands in cash and supplies at a Ladbroke Grove food bank. The press christens the figure “Robin of the Hood,” and the city falls in love with the idea.
DI Elias Mercer isn’t buying it. He sees pattern, not romance: identical movement, controlled timing, and a leak that feels engineered. When Mercer’s investigation collides with Robin’s double life, the hunt shifts from burglary to narrative warfare. Art broker Oliver Kett and ex-Met fixer Martin Greaves begin shaping the legend for profit, staging “sightings” and manufacturing footage to flush the thief into the open.
Robin refuses to be packaged. She infiltrates their operation, steals the tools used to fake the story, and turns the silhouette into misdirection. But every move tightens the net: police pressure, press frenzy, and rich men who don’t forgive embarrassment. In London, myths don’t stay cute. They become traps.
